What’s the conflict in the Gulf all about? Oil?...A mad-man?...Is it really too complex to understand?
What’s happened to the new order?
Where’s world peace?
United Nations Cornerstone Enscription: ISA 2:4
“...They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.”
This is a prophecey of when Christ returns to judge the world...yet the UN wants nothing to do with Jesus
There will be no peace until Jesus comes back again
The Real Conflict in the Middle-east
I. Hatred and Jealousy over the an inheritance
God made a covenant with Abraham and his descendants
GEN 12:1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. GEN 12:2 "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. GEN 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
Abraham’s Descendants:
1. were to receive and write down God’s revelation to man.
Virtually every book in the Bible was written by a Jew.
2. To protect and preserve the purity of the written word.
Dead Sea scrolls in late 1940’s...Scroll of Isaiah dated 200 BC...Previously the oldest copy was dated 900 AD, 1100 years later yet they were identical.
3. To witness to the pagan world that there is only one true God and to show men how to come to know him.
4. To serve as the human family through whom the Messiah, the savior of mankind would be born. Even though they rejected him!
5. And they were to dwell in the land God gave them, the land of Israel.
GEN 15:18 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram and said, "To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates-- GEN 15:19 the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, GEN 15:20 Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites, GEN 15:21 Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites."
Modern-day Arabs are half-brothers with the Jews
GEN 16:1 Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar; GEN 16:2 so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her." Abram agreed to what Sarai said. GEN 16:3 So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife. GEN 16:4 He slept with Hagar, and she conceived.
The Arabs are descendants of Ishmael. The illegitimate descendant of Abraham and Hagar.
GEN 16:11 The angel of the LORD also said to her: "You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery.
Ishmael was a rebellious, hostile man
GEN 16:12 He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers."
Who is the rightful descendants of Abraham?
GEN 17:4 "As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. GEN 17:5 No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. GEN 17:6 I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you. GEN 17:7 I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. GEN 17:8 The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God." GEN 17:9 Then God said to Abraham, "As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come. GEN 17:15 God also said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai; her name will be Sarah. GEN 17:16 I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her." GEN 17:17 Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, "Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?" GEN 17:19 Then God said, "Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. GEN 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation. GEN 17:21 But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year."
Sarah, who didn’t wait upon God, eventually conceived the legitimate son God promised. Isaac
GEN 21:1 Now the LORD was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what he had promised. GEN 21:2 Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him. GEN 21:3 Abraham gave the name Isaac to the son Sarah bore him.
As prophesied, Ishmael began to hate his brother Isaac and to be hostile to him. Consequently Ishmael and Hagar were cast out of the family of Abraham and did not receive the inheritance given a son.
GEN 21:8 The child grew and was weaned, and on the day Isaac was weaned Abraham held a great feast. GEN 21:9 But Sarah saw that the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham was mocking, GEN 21:10 and she said to Abraham, "Get rid of that slave woman and her son, for that slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac." GEN 21:11 The matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son. GEN 21:12 But God said to him, "Do not be so distressed about the boy and your maidservant. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned. GEN 21:13 I will make the son of the maidservant into a nation also, because he is your offspring." GEN 21:14 Early the next morning Abraham took some food and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar. He set them on her shoulders and then sent her off with the boy. She went on her way and wandered in the desert of Beersheba.
From this time on the descendants of Ishmael (Arab nations) hated and have been the enemies of the decedents of Isaac (Nation of Israel)
Ishmaelites took Joseph as a slave into Egypt Gen 37:25-36
The Amalekites waged war with Moses in the Desert Gen 37:25-36
The Arabs fought the Jews when Uzziah was King.2Chron 26:7
Geshem, an Arab opposed Nehemiah when He sought to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Neh 2:19, 6:19
* 40 AD 50,000 slain in Selucia and 20,000 in Caesarea by the Syrians
From time to time God has used the Arab hatred (as well as others)to discipline the Jews. Ex: Evil King Jehoram who led the people into prostituing themselves with Idol worship 2Chron 1:12-17
Not only have the Arabs traditionally been a hostile people but traditionally the Jews have been a rebellious people.
God has repeatedly delivered them and they have rebelled, then discipline...
* Daniel 9 says that 483 years after the decree to rebuild Jerusalem, the Messiah would be revealed, rejected and then killed and then the temple would be destroyed.
* 444 BC Artaxerxes gave Nehemiah permission to rebuild Jerusale
*April 6, 32 AD, exactly 483 years later, Jesus rode on a donkey into Jerusalem and was later crucified.
Then, in AD70 As predicted by Jesus, the Romans entered Jerusalem and killed 1,300,000 and took many into captivity, then destroyed Jerusalem. They became the most persecuted people on earth without a homeland.for over 1900 years
*During the 1st and 2nd centuries Emperor Constantine outlawed the Jews, cut off their ears and dispersed them as vagabonds
* 6th Century 60,000 slain and many sold into slavery
* in 622 Mohammed founded Islam. When the Jews refused to accept this new religion, most of the Jews in Arabia were killed
* 8th century in France multitudes of Jews were burned to death
*1298...Hundreds of thousands of Jews were killed through out Europe
* 1350 The black plague engulfed Europe. They blamed it on the Jews and murdered half of all the jews in europe.
* 1492 Spain forced 800,000 Jews into the sea to drown.
* 1881 In Russia there were 5 million Jews. Alexander III instituted the policy of 1/3 to die, 1/3 to be thrown out of the country and 1/3 to join the Russian church
* WW2 Hitler murdered 6,000,000 Jews. 6 out of every 10 Jews were exterminated.
Again, God’s mercy is displayed for His rebellious people...
EZE 36:22 "Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone. EZE 36:23 I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Sovereign LORD, when I show myself holy through you before their eyes. EZE 36:24 "' For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. EZE 36:25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. EZE 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. EZE 36:27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. EZE 36:28 You will live in the land I gave your forefathers; you will be my people, and I will be your God. EZE 36:29 I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and make it plentiful and will not bring famine upon you. EZE 36:30 I will increase the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field, so that you will no longer suffer disgrace among the nations because of famine. EZE 36:31 Then you will remember your evil ways and wicked deeds, and you will loathe yourselves for your sins and detestable practices. EZE 36:32 I want you to know that I am not doing this for your sake, declares the Sovereign LORD. Be ashamed and disgraced for your conduct, O house of Israel! EZE 36:33 "' This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will resettle your towns, and the ruins will be rebuilt. EZE 36:34 The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through it. EZE 36:35 They will say, "This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden; the cities that were lying in ruins, desolate and destroyed, are now fortified and inhabited." EZE 36:36 Then the nations around you that remain will know that I the LORD have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I the LORD have spoken, and I will do it.'
Jerusalem was prophesied to become a great burden to the world in the end times and God will fight for them against anyone who tries to destroy her.
ZEC 12:1 This is the word of the LORD concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the spirit of man within him, declares: ZEC 12:2 "I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling.
The 1967 6 day war, this war and any future aggression before Jesus returns are a direct fullfillment:
ZEC 12:2 "I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged (surrounded with armed forces)as well as Jerusalem. ZEC 12:3 On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves. ZEC 12:4 On that day I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness," declares the LORD. "I will keep a watchful eye over the house of Judah, but I will blind all the horses of the nations. ZEC 12:5 Then the leaders of Judah will say in their hearts, 'The people of Jerusalem are strong, because the LORD Almighty is their God.' ZEC 12:6 "On that day I will make the leaders of Judah like a firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming torch among sheaves. They will consume right and left all the surrounding peoples, but Jerusalem will remain intact in her place. ZEC 12:7 "The LORD will save the dwellings of Judah first, so that the honor of the house of David and of Jerusalem's inhabitants may not be greater than that of Judah. ZEC 12:8 On that day the LORD will shield those who live in Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the Angel of the LORD going before them.
Then many of the Jews will come to believe in Jesus being their messiah
ZEC 12:9 On that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that attack Jerusalem. ZEC 12:10 "And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.
The world conditions will be getting much worse:
Invasion of Israel by Arab nations and Russia. The allied nations and also China will fight Russia.
A Global economic collapse
War, famine and epidemics will claim over 1 billion lives inside of only a feww months
Nuclear war brings pollution of one third of the world’s fresh water supply
Then God’s wrath is poured out on the Earth
Knowing this, how can I experience peace?
